Description
Rivermead Farmhouse, along with a stable and outbuilding, dates from the mid-18th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble with freestone dressings and feature a pantiled roof with coped raised verges and brick stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three bays, with three- and two-light casement windows set in square stone mullions and surrounds. There is a central 20th-century door framed by a square freestone surround. The adjoining stable and outbuilding to the right are also built of rubble and have a pantiled roof. This structure is two storeys tall and includes a square-headed stable door on the left, a blocked central doorway with a loft door above it, and a single-storey lean-to on the right. The farmhouse is likely connected to the Kelston Brass Works.
