Description
1, 2, and 3 Sydney Wharf are three houses built in the early 19th century, located on the west side of Sydney Wharf and backing onto the railway. The houses feature limestone ashlar fronts and rubblestone at the rear, topped with a hipped double Roman tile roof that has moulded stacks at the party walls.
Each house is three storeys tall. No. 1, on the right, has a single window range with six-over-six pane sash windows to the right and a shallow hood on brackets over a 20th-century door to the left. No. 2 has a similar two-window range, with an eight-over-eight pane sash window on the ground floor to the right and six raised and fielded panels on the original door, with the ground floor in painted ashlar. No. 3 has a two-window range that cants back to the left, featuring two small 20th-century windows to the right of the upper floors and eight-over-twelve pane sash windows in the centre of the lower floors. The left return of No. 3 includes a three-over-three pane sash window on the second floor, six-over-six pane sashes below, and a mid-19th century six-panel door to the left under a hood on shaped brackets. The rear of No. 3 extends further than the other houses. The interiors have not been inspected.
