Description

This is an early 19th-century shop, later converted into a house. The building has 20th-century additions. It is constructed of rough limestone ashlar with a double-pitched pantile roof and moulded stacks to the left gable end. The plan is a double-depth configuration.

The front of the building has a rubblestone plinth, nearly two metres high, which may be a remnant of a previous structure. The left-hand side features an early 19th-century shopfront with a moulded cornice over the fascia, along with panelled pilasters, which have moulded caps, flanking the door and the window. The shop's door has a bolection moulding to the upper four vertical panels and two lower panels, with an integral overlight. The window has two rows of three panes and thin colonnettes.

To the right is a gabled front range with a ten/ten-pane sash window to the first floor, and six/six-pane and eight/eight-pane sashes to the ground floor. A narrower, rear gabled range has two eight/eight-pane sashes to each floor, likely from the 20th century. The left return has a 20th-century single-story lean-to with an eight/eight-pane sash window to the front, two 20th-century windows above, and further 20th-century windows and a door to the rear. The interior was not inspected.
