Description
The Apple Tree Inn is an inn dating from the mid-18th century, with extensions added in the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with double Roman tile roofs and features brick stacks. The building has two storeys and includes three windows on the main facade, along with an additional window to the east in a later extension and two more in a lower wing to the west. The central entrance is a 20th-century door set beneath a moulded flat hood supported by ornate brackets and moulded jambs.
On the ground floor, there are three-light edge-moulded mullion windows with ogee-moulded interiors and fixed panes, flanking a later sash window. Above, there are two similar two-light windows, with casements to the left and right, and an 8-pane sash window in the centre. To the right, the windows are four-light sashes with plain architraves, accompanied by a plain door and a single-storey lean-to. The first floor features two-light casements, with 20th-century top-hung casements below. The rear of the building faces the road and is at a lower level.
