Description
Lester Cottage is a pair of houses located on the north-west side of High Street in Wellow, with Peacehaven situated to the rear and right of Lester Cottage. Lester Cottage dates from the late 17th century and has been altered. It is constructed of rubble and features a double Roman tiled roof with a coped raised verge. The building has two storeys, with two windows and a central door. The left side has 2-light casements with moulded mullions and surrounds, while the right side has early to mid-19th century sashes with mixed glazing. The door is a modern plank design. The east gable includes two 2-light casements with moulded mullions and surrounds, which are positioned under drip moulds.
Peacehaven, also from the late 17th century and altered, is similarly built of rubble and has a modern tiled roof with a coped raised verge. It has two storeys, featuring a single glazing bar sash window with a modern porch below at the front, and two 2-light casements in the east gable with moulded mullions and surrounds under drip moulds. There are two additional casements on the rear elevation.
