Description
Stonecross is a rectory that has been converted into a private house, dated 1828 for the Reverend H.H. Hayes. The building features coursed square rubble and random rubble, topped with a Cotswold stone slate roof that has coped raised verges and kneelers. It is designed in a plain Tudor Gothic style and has a T-plan layout with two storeys and attics. The facade consists of three bays, with 2- and 3-light casement and cross windows set in chamfered mullions and surrounds, all beneath dripmoulds.
At the center, there is a two-storey gabled porch that contains a gothic panelled door with an overlight, framed by a chamfered, four-centre headed surround. Above the door, there is a three-light timber oriel window with four-centre headed lights, and a date plaque is situated in the gable. The rear wing features a canted bay window with a pierced parapet.
