Description

Naish's Cottages is a row of three cottages located in North Stoke. No. 1 dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and was altered and extended in the early 19th century. Nos. 2 and 3 are likely from the mid 18th century and may be remodelled versions of earlier buildings. The cottages are built of rubble with freestone dressings and feature double Roman tiled roofs with coped raised verges. They are two storeys high and consist of two bays each.

No. 1 has three- and two-light casement windows with ogee moulded mullions and surrounds, while Nos. 2 and 3 have two-light casement windows with edge roll moulded surrounds, all topped with straight cornices. There are 20th-century doors located at the centre of Nos. 1 and 2, and to the right of No. 3, each under flat stone hoods supported by brackets. Additionally, No. 1 has an early 19th-century extension at the rear featuring two-light Gothic style cross and casement windows.
