Description

Greenway Lodge is an early 19th-century detached villa with 20th-century additions. The main building is a symmetrical, double-depth structure. At the rear, it sits against rising ground with a small enclosed area, and to the left is a lower, later wing, partially set against a high parapet carried over from the principal range.

The original building is two stories high, featuring three windows within raised, flat surrounds. These windows contain twelve-pane sashes, with cast iron balconettes to the first floor. A carved panel sits below the central window, topped by a curved hood over the front door which has a fanlight. Other details include a broad platband, rusticated quoin pilasters, a lintel and frieze, a moulded cornice, and a blocking course. There is no coping. Lofty square ashlar stacks rise from each gable.

To the right is a single-bay section set back, similarly detailed. To the left is a similar bay, but with a large, full-width 20th-century dormer and a two-story cottage. The rear elevation features pavilion-like ends to the lower centre section, with a projecting square turret built on piers, spanning a deep area enclosed by an ashlar wall with rounded tops. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
