Description
The wall of the Upper Cemetery of St Thomas Aquinas Church is a Grade II listed structure located in Widcombe. Built in the mid-19th century, it is constructed of coursed squared limestone topped with flat stone coping. The wall stands approximately 2.5 meters high and stretches about 40 meters in length. It includes two gatepiers and a flight of steps leading to the cemetery at a higher level. This finely built retaining wall has good visual qualities and contributes significantly to the character of the old Widcombe village.
