Description

The Patches is an early 18th-century house, originally two cottages, with alterations from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with stone openings and has a double Roman tile roof. The north wing is two storeys high and has three windows. A glazed porch is located on the left-hand side, and a blocked doorway is positioned centrally beneath a segmental-headed relieving arch. A former two-light mullion window is visible on the right-hand side, now fitted with a wooden casement. The upper windows of the north wing are two-light, edge-moulded mullions, with a central single opening blocked. The south wing is two storeys high and has two windows. Original openings have been breached for casements, and a canted glazed bay has been added to the ground floor on the right-hand side. The house has three brick stacks. This building has group value.
