Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from around 1628, with alterations made around 1690 and in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with freestone dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and attics, with a total of nine windows. On the ground floor, there are two-light cross windows set in bolection moulded surrounds with dripmoulds above. The first floor has glazing bar sash windows that are topped with a continuous moulded cornice. The central entrance features a panelled door in a bolection moulded surround, topped by an elegant shell hood supported by carved brackets.
At the rear, there are two wings that include some casement windows in ovolo moulded surrounds, along with a rear stair tower that has two-light cross windows. Inside, the ground floor north room has a bolection moulded fire surround and a shell-headed cupboard. The staircase features turned balusters and a moulded handrail. A rear door, which now leads to a bathroom, has an ogee and ovolo moulded surround with lozenges on the outer part. On the first floor, the north room has fielded panelling and an enriched neo-classical fireplace. The southeast room in the rear wing displays a 17th-century plaster frieze featuring winged cherubs alternating with cartouches, along with an ogee moulded doorway. Additionally, there is an outbuilding immediately south of the house that contains a four-centre headed and ovolo moulded door surround, with the date 1628 carved on the spandrels, likely removed from the house.
