Description

The gatepiers, gates, and wall to Brompton House Hotel from Bathwick Street date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from Bath stone ashlar and coursed squared rubble, featuring wrought iron gates. The square ashlar piers have a small cornice and a pyramid cap. The wrought-iron double gates sweep down to the middle. A rubble wall with plain coping runs between the hotel and the churchyard. The Brompton House Hotel was formerly the Vicarage to St John the Baptist Church on St John's Road.
