Description
These are a semi-detached pair of cottages, built in 1919 as part of a planned layout. They are constructed of Ardingly sandstone snecked rubble at ground floor level, with a timber-framed first floor featuring close-studding and curved braces. The roofs are mainly tiled, with two lower courses of Horsham stone slabs. A tall, central stack is predominantly brick but incorporates sandstone. The cottages are two storeys high with two windows each. They have four-light mullion windows with casements and leaded lights; the ground floor window of number 4 is longer than that of number 3. The side doorcases have flat hoods supported by brackets, and the doors are half-glazed with 16 panes. The cottages are designed to be a mirror image of numbers 7 and 8 New Cottages.
