Description

This is a pair of semi-detached cottages, numbers 7 and 8, built in 1919 as part of a planned layout. The ground floor is constructed of sandstone rubble with thin sandstone facing stones. The first floor is timber-framed with close-studding and curved bracing. The roof is hipped, largely tiled, but incorporates two lower courses of Horsham stone slabs. A tall, central chimney stack is primarily brick but includes sections of sandstone. The cottages are two storeys high and have two windows each. They feature four-light mullioned windows with casements and leaded lights; the ground floor window of number 8 is longer than that of number 7. Each cottage has a side doorcase with a flat hood supported by brackets, and a half-glazed door with 16 panes. The pair is architecturally similar to numbers 3 and 4 New Cottages.
