Description
The former stable, granary, and cartshed at Brook Farm dates from the 18th century. It is weatherboarded with a tiled roof. The stable and granary is the taller section, supported by five sandstone piers and one brick pier at the rear. Inside the granary, you can find the original weatherboarding, old floorboards, and a roof with collar beams. The stable features two stalls, likely intended for carthorses. The former cartshed is lower and was originally open-ended; it now has a 20th-century window and garage doors. This building was originally part of the same property as Northlands, the original farmhouse, which was owned by the Sergison family of Cuckfield Place.
