Description

The gates and gatepiers, located 60 metres southeast of Old Place, were built around 1884 by C. E. Kempe. They feature two square sandstone piers topped with domed caps, which display sculptures of two bishops or archbishops in clerical robes. Access is provided by five stone steps that are flanked by a sandstone balustrade. The gates themselves are made of cast and wrought iron, showcasing elaborate scrollwork dograils and scrolled piers.
