Description
Pear Tree is a pair of estate cottages built in the late 19th century in a Tudor style. The cottages are two storeys tall and have a T-shaped layout. The ground floor features timber framing with brick infill, including some herringbone patterns. The first floor is also timber-framed but has plaster infill, showcasing close studding with curved braces. The roof is tiled and has a central clustered brick chimney stack. There is a bressummer, and the cottages have two central projecting gables adorned with elaborate fretted barge-boards and pendants. Each cottage has two windows, with plain two-light windows at the ends and four bay oriel windows in the centre. The end doorcases are arched and feature plank doors with strapwork panels above.
