Description
This is a former mill building, not a mill house, likely dating largely to the 18th century at the north end, with a tarred weather-boarded facade. The main portion of the building was constructed in the 19th century and incorporates an 18th-century doorway. The building is two storeys high with a semi-basement on the east side and has four windows. It is built of painted brick with a tiled roof and gabled ends to the north and south. The windows appear to be sash windows, but are constructed in two sections, each pivoting on a swivel and fitted with wooden shutters. A doorway, approached by steps with an iron handrail, features a wide, flat hood supported by brackets. Above the doorway is a loft door, and above that a gabled pigeon loft with weather-boarded sides projecting on brackets from the roof. A pair of handsome wrought iron gates provides access to the drive and garden.
