Description
This is a timber-framed building, originally three cottages and now comprising two dwellings, located on the north-east side of Steying High Street. The building's origins are medieval, with later alterations. It forms an L-shape. The upper floor retains close-studded timber framing with plaster infilling and was once jettied. The ground floor has been extended outwards at each end with red brick and grey header brickwork, although the central section still projects. The roof is hipped and covered with Horsham slate tiles. Most windows are horizontally-sliding sash windows, although those on the ground floor of number 90 have ordinary sash windows with intact glazing bars. A central doorway is distinguished by its obtusely-pointed arch. The north-west wall reveals the original timber framing, also with squares of plaster infilling. Inside, the building features a crown post roof.
