Description

Nos 83 and 85 on High Street in Steyning are 18th-century buildings, with No 83 dated 1710. They are two storeys tall, featuring three windows and one window space in the center of No 83. The facade of No 83 is constructed with flints and red brick dressings and quoins, while No 85 is finished with stucco. Both buildings have tiled roofs, and the glazing bars are intact, except for the ground floor of No 85, which has a modern shop window that is no longer in use. The doorways are accessed by six steps and are framed with moulded architrave surrounds, topped with a heavy pediment on console brackets for No 85.
