Description

The Slaughterhouse, now a store, is located on Park Street in Burton's Yard. This 18th-century building features a timber frame with red brick cladding on the ground floor and weatherboarded cladding above. It has a half-hipped plain tiled roof. On the first floor, there are two boarded doors, one at each end. The ground floor has two pairs of double doors on the right end and a boarded door to the left. Inside, the flooring is present only in the two westernmost bays. The roof is supported by a queen truss, which has an 18th-century wooden hoist attached to a lengthwise beam.
