Description

Bay Tree Cottage is a 19th-century building located at right angles to the southeast of Budgens Stores on High Street in Henfield. The north or back front features a restored timber-framed structure with curved braces and red brick infilling, along with two modern timbered gables. The building is two storeys high with tiled roofing and casement windows, comprising two windows in total. The south or entrance front has been refaced or rebuilt in the early 19th century and is one storey tall with two windows, constructed of red brick. It has a side eaves cornice, a tiled roof, and intact glazing bars. Notable features include a bay window and a round-headed doorway that is surrounded by a moulded architrave, complete with a semi-circular fanlight and a door made of six fielded panels.
