Description

Staplefields is a house of several periods, situated on the Steyning Horsham Road. The north-south wing likely dates to the 17th century or earlier and is timber-framed with red brick infilling, featuring casement windows and three bays. The south-east wing is 18th century, constructed of grey brick headers on a red brick base, with brick quoins, a stringcourse, and panels between the windows. A wooden eaves cornice tops this wing, which has two storeys and two windows. Both wings originally had Horsham slab roofs, though some sections have been replaced with tiles. A large, modern L-wing adjoins the north-east side of the property. Sash windows with intact glazing bars are visible in the 18th century wing.
