Description
Old Inn Cottage is a timber-framed building dating from around 1600, consisting of 2 1/2 bays and likely originally designed as an open hall. It has two storeys, with the lower storey featuring timber framing and brick-filled panels, while the upper storey is adorned with pointed tile hanging. There are two wooden casement windows. The roof is tiled, hipped at the east end, and has a brick chimney stack at the west end. A brick near the front door is inscribed with "SL 1723," which likely indicates a refurbishment date. At the rear, there is a short two-storey wing that showcases exposed timber framing and a tile-hung gable. Inside, the central truss has a queen strut roof, and the chimney end features a queen post roof. The rafters are notably irregular and show signs of being smoke blackened.
