Description
Apple Tree Farm is a building that likely originated as a 17th-century timber-framed central chimney house, situated on an old site. It stands two storeys high and has been refaced in red brick with grey headers, topped by a tiled roof. The facade features two triple casement windows. To the left, there is a two-storey section that appears to be from the mid-19th century, constructed in red brick with grey headers and covered by a slate roof. This section includes a sash window with glazing bars and a simple doorcase with a chamfered fanlight. There are also 19th-century extensions that are not of special architectural interest, built in brick and tiles with tile-hung gables and either mullioned or mullioned and transomed windows. The building has a porticoed weather porch with a verandah. Inside, the original wing displays square framing and a chamfered spine beam. The property was formerly known as Great Auxford.
