Description
Newstead Lodge is a farmhouse dating from around 1600, which has undergone significant alterations and enlargements over the years. The main façade, facing east, is constructed of 19th-century red brick and features twin gables. To the west lies the older part of the building, which is notable for its fine brick chimney stack rising from the roof. This section is timber framed but has been partially faced with brick and partly weather-boarded. The roofs of the older portion are covered with old tiles. A modern brick extension has been added to the west side. Inside, the property showcases exposed square framing, ceiling beams, and an early 18th-century staircase that has two turned balusters on each tread.
