Description

This is a terrace of early 19th century houses situated on the southwest side of Cavendish Street. Number 21A has two windows above and three below; the upper windows include one sash window and a small circular window, while the lower windows consist of one double sash window at the northwestern end. Numbers 22 to 27 form a continuous frontage, slightly recessed behind number 21A. They are two storeys high with cellars, and each house originally had one window bay. The roofs are slate, with a hip at the southeast end.

The front of the building is stuccoed, with numbers 22 to 24 being roughcast. The windows are sash windows set in reveals; the upper windows are in flat arches with wooden lintels, and the lower windows are in slightly segmental arches, all retaining their original glazing bars. Numbers 22 to 24 have doorways with Doric pilasters and pediments, featuring six-panel moulded doors with the top two panels cut away and glazed. Numbers 25 to 27 have doors set in slightly segmental arches, with flush-panelled doors, the top two panels cut away and glazed. The doorway of number 21A has a frame and flat hood. The terrace, numbers 1 to 50 inclusive, forms a group.
