Description
The Old House is a house dating back to the 16th century, with a front elevation dating to the early 18th century. The house has a timber frame construction and a brick front, topped with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles. A diagonal chimney from the 17th century is located on the left side. The house is three storeys high and has five bays, with a central projecting element. It features string courses above the ground and first floors. There are glazing bar sash windows, each set under a gauged brick head, with brick panels above the windows on the second floor. A window on the first floor is set within a cut brick surround. The central entrance has a glazed door framed by Tuscan pilasters, sheltered by a flat hood with decorative foliage scroll brackets. The return front on the right also has a diagonal chimney stack, along with leaded casement windows. The interior retains some visible timber framing.
