Description
Dye Cottage is a cottage dating from the 15th century, with a 20th-century wing added to the rear. It features a timber frame with the main posts visible and coursed sandstone rubble infill, along with brick quoins at the ends. The cottage has a steeply pitched hipped roof with end gablets and consists of one storey and an attic, which is highlighted by a large, flat-roofed, leaded dormer. The design includes an oversailing gable at the center and a front stack on the left side. There are three framed bays, with one first-floor window on the right and two mullioned and transomed leaded casements on the left. A pentice roof extension on the right side of the ground floor is clad in weatherboard and features a ribbed door and a three-light window. Additionally, there is a sandstone wing that extends at right angles to the rear.
