Description
Wrecclesham House is a 16th-century building that has been altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. It stands two storeys high with timber framing that is covered in red brick at the front, dating from the early 19th century. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles. The house features three recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars and flat brick arches. There is an off-centre recessed door with four panels, two of which are glazed, and a later gabled porch. The house is designed in an L-shape, with some timber framing visible as part of a stone tunnel with offsets. The side and rear of the house have 19th-century casement windows, and the gable end has been largely rebuilt. On the south side, there is a three-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor.
Inside, most of the ground floor has been modified, but the dining room still has an open fireplace with a fine chimney vane and beam. The bedrooms retain some original beams, and one of the door posts features carving. Some rafters and purlins are also visible.
