Description
Nore and Cobblestone House is a house that has been extended and divided, originally built in the 17th century with additions from the 19th and 20th centuries on the right. The structure is timber framed, with a whitewashed and rendered brick lower section and tile hung above, some of which is in a diamond pattern. There are sandstone rubble and brick extensions to the right, all covered by plain tiled roofs, which include some hipped and half-hipped sections. The house has two storeys, featuring an end stack to the left and an offset square end stack to the right, along with a square ridge stack to the right of centre that is dated 1750. The first floor has four leaded casements, while the ground floor has three larger leaded casements. A panelled door is located to the right of centre. At the rear, there are wings at right angles and dormered extensions to the right, which were once a barn converted around 1900 and are of no special architectural interest. This part of the house is known as Cobblestone House and was formerly the home of Brian Howard.
