Description
The stable block, now part cottage, is located 5 metres north-east of Tilford House and dates from the 18th century. It is constructed from galleted, roughcoursed sandstone with brick dressings and features a hipped plain tiled roof. The building is rectangular and has two storeys, with a pentice roof extension set back to the right and angle quoins. There is a plat band above the ground floor and a wooden eaves cornice. The first floor has irregular casement windows with four cambered heads, while the ground floor features four sash windows in architrave surrounds. A central pediment with a clock face and a crowning weathervane is present. The ground floor includes double coach house doors at the centre, stable doors to the right of centre, and in the pentice extension. Additionally, there is a door with six fielded panels to the left of centre, which is situated under a gabled hood supported by brackets.
