Description
The stable block at Unstead Park was built between 1780 and 1790, with 19th-century extensions. It features yellow stock brick on the rear range and red brick on the front, topped with low pitched hipped slate roofs. A central square wooden cupola, covered with an ogee lead roof and topped with a scroll weathervane, is located on the south range. The building has a rectangular plan surrounding a central courtyard and consists of a single storey with an attic, showcasing brick dentilled eaves on the north range. A large square chimney stack is positioned to the right.
On the south front, the ends slightly project, with casement doors flanked by lights on the left and a casement window on the right. There are arched casement windows on either side of a gable or pediment above the three-bay center, which features a roundel in the gable. The ground floor has arched windows flanking a central door that is topped with a fanlight. A parallel range extends to the north, connected by a return range to the east. An attached house on the east side is not of special interest.
