Description
Burstow Lodge is a house dating from the 15th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick cladding at the bottom and tile hanging above. The steeply pitched hipped slate roof has plain ridge tiles, with a stack located to the left of center and another at the left end. This hall house has two storeys and a mixed arrangement of casement windows, with five windows on the first floor. To the left of center, there is a ribbed door situated in a gabled timber porch that includes arched leaded windows. There are double casement doors at the left end, and 20th-century extensions can be found at the rear right.
Inside, much of the massive framing is exposed, showcasing moulded beams and wall plates. The first-floor solar features heavy strutted arch braces, and there are massive crown posts in both the hall and solar.
