Description
Coltsford Mill is a mill and mill house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the late 17th century and features extensive 19th-century extensions and 20th-century restoration. The building has a brick base, with the entrance front rendered and painted weatherboard above in the mill section. It has slate roofs that are hipped at the front and extend down over the sides of the first floor, with stacks on both the left and right sides. The structure is three storeys tall, with a later mill section at the rear, a single-storey wing to the rear left, and a single-storey extension with a pentice roof at the front left. There are two casement windows on the first and second floors, and a half-glazed stable-style door located to the left of centre. A 19th-century iron mill wheel is attached to the rear wall.
Inside, the mill wheel machinery is still in working order, with grain hoppers and flour bins located above on the first floor.
