Description
Bluebeckers Eating House, formerly known as The Hovel, is an 18th-century house that has been converted into a restaurant and café. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a wooden eaves board and a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with a stack located at the rear.
On the first floor, there are three 16-pane, 19th-century glazing-bar sash windows, each situated under canopies. The ground floor is marked by two bow windows that have dentilled lintels and panelled risers. A central brick porch with a hipped, plain-tiled roof provides access, with one window facing the street and the entrance located on the left side. Additionally, there is a further panelled door to the left, which has a fixed transom above it, leading into a former through-way. At the rear, there is a wing that extends at right angles.
