Description
1 and 2 Lime Tree Cottages are two cottages located in Shepperton, dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The cottages are constructed of whitewashed brick on a rendered plinth, featuring brick dentilled eaves and a machine-tiled roof from the 20th century that is hipped and follows an angled corner to the right.
The buildings are two storeys high, with a plat band above the ground floor and stacks located at the left end and the rear right. No. 2, which is on the left, has three 19th-century plate glass sash windows on the first floor and a blocked window to the left of centre. On the ground floor, there are two sash windows and a half-glazed door to the left of centre, which has two upper fielded panels in a panelled reveal.
No. 1, on the right, features one sash window on the first floor and a "cross" casement window on the ground floor to the left. There is one sash window on each floor of the right-hand return front, which faces Cemetery Lane, and a part-glazed door located on the angled corner. At the rear, there are pentice and two hip-roofed wings positioned at right angles.
