Description
The Former Staines West Station, opened in 1885, was adapted from an earlier 19th-century house called Moor House. It features an L-plan design with two and three storeys, constructed from buff/yellow brick with brick flat arches. The building has hipped slate roofs and four chimneys. The left-hand wing, which is three storeys tall, projects forward and has blocked windows on the ground and first floors, with glazing bar sashes on the second floor.
At the center, there is a box porch with one window return. The right-hand section is two storeys high and has three windows, with a decorative band over the ground floor. The left bay above the porch extension features a hipped gabled break. The projecting box porch has a cornice and blocking course, with panelled doors that include a transom light and a bracketed flat hood, along with narrow flanking windows and a three-window return to the porch. Spearhead railings are present on both sections of the building. Additionally, on the east return side, there is a 10-foot wall that extends about 40 yards to the north.
