Description
The Cedars and The Little Cedars is a mid-18th century house with later alterations and additions. It features a 19th-century hipped slate roof with wide eaves. The building is three stories tall and has five sash windows, with the center window being blank. The sash windows have bars and consist of 12 panes each. The central entrance has a doorcase with a segmental hood, decorative moulding with dentils, shaped consoles, and fluted pilasters. The front is made of brown brick with red dressings, including gauged flat arches above the windows and a shaped soffit above the center window on the first floor. There are floor bands and 18th-century front railings with a central gate.
To the south is a wing known as The Little Cedars, which dates from the early 19th century and incorporates an earlier section. This part is made of amber brick and consists of two stories and one story. The entrance on the south side, facing Alwyn Lane, features a door with six reeded flush panels and a fanlight. It also has sash windows, while the older portion includes a sliding casement window. There is a garden to the west.
