Description

Englefield Lodge is a house dating to around 1830, with 20th-century extensions to the east. The house is constructed of red brick, with coved eaves cornices and a hipped slate roof. The main entrance front is set back, with a two-storey extension to the east featuring sash windows on both floors. The central entrance is stuccoed and features Doric columns on a three-step base, flanked by small-pane sash windows. Above are three small-pane sash windows. A later two-storey extension in red brick, with a triple slate roof, adjoins the west side, incorporating a mix of sash and casement windows. To the west stands a detached two-storey brick stable block. The garden elevation (east) has four pairs of French windows with three panes each on the ground floor. The first floor has four 12-pane sash windows with blind boxes, and iron gutter brackets are visible at the eaves.
