Description

This is an early 18th-century group of four cottages located on London Street in Chertsey. They are two storeys high and have a continuous tile roof. The buildings are constructed of brick, with roughcast and painted surfaces. Each cottage has two sash windows, with bars and near-flush frames; two of these windows are blank. There are five entrance doors, with number 38 incorporating an 18th-century door, some dating from the early 19th century, and all featuring hoods supported by shaped brackets. Number 36 has a small shop window enclosed in a wooden case with pilasters and an entablature. The cottages are notable for their group value. Numbers 36 to 48 (even) form a group.
