Description

Frith Park Farmhouse is a building of mixed origins, with its western half dating back to the 16th century. This original section was refronted in the late 17th or early 18th century and extended in the early 19th century. Further alterations and replacement windows occurred in the later 19th and 20th centuries. The front of the farmhouse is now brick, painted, and topped with a plain tiled roof and two brick chimneystacks. It presents two main ranges running parallel. The upper floor has double- or triple-glazed windows. The ground floor includes two 20th-century bays with a pentice roof and a doorcase on the right-hand side. The western half of the building features a stringcourse and plinth. Decorative wooden bargeboards are found on the front range. Inside, the ground floor room on the west side retains an exposed beam, a chamfered axial beam, and a bressumer over the open fireplace.
