Description

This is an early to mid-19th century, three-bay villa located on London Road in Reigate. The villa is constructed of coursed squared Merstham chalk blocks, with window jambs and cut voussoirs of ashlar, and has a slate roof of moderate pitch. There are two chimneys at the right end of the roof, and two more at the left, linked by a later, taller superstructure that alters the house’s appearance. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. A four-step approach leads to a four-panel door, above which is an oblong fanlight, all within a prostyle Tuscan porch. A set-back link, built around the same time, connects the villa to number 26. The building is included on the list partly for its group value, as numbers 26 and 28 form a group.
