Description
Castle Cottage is a timber-framed building, likely dating from the 17th century. It has two storeys and two bays. The high-pitched tiled roof features an old projecting end chimney with offsets. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is rendered. There are small modern upper casements, and the ground floor has square oriel windows from around 1900, which are located under pent tiled roofs flanking a central Dutch door that is also beneath a similar pent hood. There are lean-to extensions at the end and behind the cottage, with some exposed framing visible at the rear. A modern chimney has been added at the opposite end from the old one, and there are some 19th-century fancy glazed casements at the back.
