Description
The Lodge is a late 16th century small house, which may have originally been part of a larger dwelling, featuring a modern south wing. The older section is two storeys high with two windows and has a roughcast front. The back wall is made of large rubble masonry with some brick patching. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with a compound stack at the junction. To the left, there is a timber-framed lean-to. Inside, the house boasts good old ceiling beams and an inglenook fireplace. The south extension, which is one bay, has a ground floor of coursed rubble and half-timbering with roughcast above, topped by a hip-ended slate roof. There is also a lean-to porch on the west side. The original part of the house features small leaded casements.
