Description

The Beehive is a building located on London Road, originally known as the lodge to Riverdale. The northern half of the structure is a timber-framed cottage with red brick infilling and features a tiled roof and casement windows. The southern half dates from the early 19th century and is finished in stucco with a slate roof and sash windows that retain their glazing bars. The ground floor windows are arranged in arcading, and there is a porch supported by columns and pilasters, topped with an entablature. The building has two storeys, with three windows on the northern portion and three on the southern portion. It was once used as an inn.
