Description

No. 9 on South Street is an early 19th-century building, likely originally timber-framed. The exterior is stuccoed and features a capped parapet. It stands three storeys tall and has two sash windows with glazing bars intact set within reveals. Below, there is an earlier 19th-century shop front, which includes butcher's hooks hanging from a hood above the shop window. An advertisement board indicates that the establishment was founded in 1800. A photograph of the building is available in the National Monuments Record.
