Description
The Old School House, located on Old School Lane in Brockham, dates from 1830 to 1840. It consists of two connected buildings. The first, No 54, is a single-storey structure facing north with a double hipped slate roof and brick walls that were once painted. It features three casement windows, one single-light window, and two five-light casement windows at either end. This building was formerly used as a junior school.
Adjoining No 54 is No 55, which faces east and is two storeys high, previously serving as the schoolmaster's house. It also has brick walls that were once painted, a slate roof with a chimney stack at each end, and two windows. The windows are three-light casements with oval and diamond-shaped panes. The doorway has a segmental arch with brick dressings and a plain boarded door.
To the south-east of these buildings is a single-storey extension that has one window and a slate roof with one hip, which was formerly the infant's school.
