Description
These are two mid-19th century semi-detached villas built in a Tudor-Gothic style. The houses are constructed of brick, rendered in a smooth finish, and extend over two storeys with an attic and a basement. Each house has two windows facing the front. The roofs are tiled with a parapet around the edges. There are two groups of six octagonal brick chimneys, each on a low brick plinth; one group is positioned centrally in front of the houses, and the other is at the rear. The window bay closest to the centre of the houses projects forward for the entire height, with a steeply pitched gable above. A single attic window is set within this gable. A stringcourse runs above the attic, parallel to the gable's peak. The windows are rendered and mullioned, with architraves on the lower floors. The ground floor features a three-light window on the upper floor, topped with a hood mould, and a three-sided bay of five lights, also with a decorated parapet. To the side of the gabled bay, there's an outer window bay of two storeys, featuring a Tudor-arched window on the upper floor, with a sash window below. A Tudor-arched doorway has a door with nine narrow panels arranged in three tiers, with the upper tiers glazed. Numbers 3 to 8, and 18 to 24, Rose Hill, form a group.
