Description
The Former Wheatsheaf Public House is a timber-framed building with a plastered front, dating from an unspecified period. It features two gables, stands two storeys tall, and has an attic in the north-eastern gable. The building has two windows and a tiled roof. The front has been modernized for use as a public house, with a door flanked by fluted pilasters and a rectangular fanlight with margin lights above. The door itself has six flush panels.
Inside, there is a passageway through the ground floor where ceiling beams are visible above. The entrance has double wooden doors. At the back, the yard of the inn extends about 50 feet, along the west side of the building, featuring old cobblestones and a mounting block.
This property is part of a group that includes Nos 29 and 31, and Nos 37 to 47 (odd), along with Nos 51 and 53.
